As usually, the volunteer Smithville crew came through and made another workday awesome. We got the Happy Jack reroute completed and opened up. This included moving the elevated walkway from the washed out cylinder crossing, over to the new trail. This short piece of trail, due to the heavy brush and downed trees, ended up having a lot of sweat (and a little bit of blood) in it but, it turned out GREAT.
We also got the upper Connector switchback rebuilt with the green paver stones and gravel that we hauled in and staged the last workday. The turn is now a bigger, smoother arch that should improve the flow and eliminate an unwanted obstacle. I'm hopeful that this will be a more long term solution to an area that we already have a lot of time and work in.
